This is devastating news of David’s passing and we communicators have suffered a great loss. The gifted professional and close oppo that I knew will certainly endure in my memory, as I’m sure it will for very many others. My recollections will always see his beaming smile and recall his amiable nature. I was privileged to share several jars in quite a few bars as we put things right!
A fine advocate of our association who worked hard to make events happen in various roles for which he volunteered. The length of time he served as a Committee member of the RNCCA is testament to his dedication to something he truly believed in.
David “Topsy” Turner will always be remembered as every inch a professional, a dedicated communicator, endearing
colleague and true friend. Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Marie-Eve and family.

Truly very sad news.
I first knew Dave at Mercury during the late ’70’s and we kept bumping into each other over the succeeding years; in the twilight of our naval careers we shared a flat in Northwood (along with Dave Tavener). Latterly, along with Marie-Eve, he was the Belgian contingent and generous host of the ‘Gang of Four’ Traf. Night Dinners.
Always ready with a humourous dit and professionally always supportive when needed. A very fine Communicator, Bunting and Gentleman.
Safe journey and fair winds Dave and Rest in Peace.
Ian
PS. Who did you persuade to take over running the GOH’s speech sweepstake?
