Crossed the Bar – WO(RS)(RCI) John Littlefield – Membership No: 401

It is sad to report that another legend of the branch crossed the bar on Friday 17th April. His funeral will be at the natural burial ground on the old HMS Mercury site on 8th May. John was a keen Naval historian and there is one of his articles, under links on this website, “A Ship Preserved in Oils” which is well worth a read. Our sincere condolences to his family.

  1. John set a fine example on how to be good Senior Rate, Warrant Officer and Gentleman. He referred to me as “the other book end …” – he was the first Warrant Officer to hold the post of G1 and I was the last. Thank you for all your kind encouragement, John. Safe journey and Rest in Peace. Ian.
